West Bend School District Residents

Students in grades kindergarten - 4 are to enroll in the school located in the specific attendance area as designated on the official boundary map located on the West Bend School District website which is linked below. Students enrolling in East High School or West High School will attend one of the schools based on the requirements in West Bend School Board Policy #432, or make a request to change their school assignment.

The decision regarding the school that a student in grades kindergarten - 4 is to attend is based on their place of residence. Parents/Guardians of students in the West Bend Joint School District #1 may request their child attend a school different from the attendance area school identified through district-defined boundaries or procedures. Such a transfer is referred to as an intra-district transfer.

Requests for an intra-district transfer must be made by completing an Intra-District/School Choice Request by the first Friday in March for attendance the following school year. Families who make a request by the first Friday in March will receive a letter by email in June with approval/denial or waitlist status. Requests received after the first Friday in March will be added to a waiting list and acted upon prior to the start of the requested school year. 

High school students receive a letter in December of their eighth grade year informing them of the high school to which they are assigned. They and their family have the option at that time to request a change to the other high school. They also have the option to switch their high school one time only once they are in high school.

Please note the following:

• The Superintendent or designee will give final approval of the request following collaboration with building principals.
• Transportation must be provided by the parent/guardian if the student is approved to attend a school other than the attendance area of the residency. 

Non-Residents of West Bend School District

If you do not currently reside in the West Bend School District and are not currently enrolled through the Open Enrollment program, please fill out an open enrollment application. The open enrollment application period is February 3, 2025 to 4 p.m. on April 30, 2025.
