Having two schools in one building with more than 2,000 students provides economies of scale. For students, that means opportunities. There are more class choices, clubs, co-curriculars, and athletics than at other area high schools. Many classes offer college credits, career skills, or knowledge to examine interests and pursue goals. Review the detailed information below.

A Wealth of Opportunities

The Youth Apprenticeship (YA) program available to juniors and seniors at East and West High Schools allows students to gain employability and occupational skills on the job and in school. It is a one or two-year program that integrates two youth apprenticeship-related courses and work-based learning. YA provides training based on statewide youth apprenticeship curriculum guidelines and students are instructed by qualified teachers and skilled worksite mentors. Learn more about youth apprenticeships. Review the Course Planning Guide for more details.

In 2023-2024, students from East and West are completing apprenticeships in architecture and construction; arts, communication, and information technology; finance; health sciences; education; agriculture, foods, and natural resources; hospitality and tourism; manufacturing; marketing; and transportation, distribution, and logistics.

Learn what the students have to say about their experiences.
