Students attending West Bend East and West High Schools may further their talent and interest in a string instrument through three orchestras. Review the information below on the prerequisites and details on each orchestra. 

Concert Orchestra
Prerequisite: Minimum of two years of private instruction or three years of middle school orchestra, or consent of instructor
Students who have finished their last year of middle school orchestra are invited to join this class. This course offers the opportunity to study and perform a wide variety of music with a string orchestra.

Philharmonic
Prerequisite: Concert Orchestra or consent of director.
This course is designed to advance the students’ interest, technique, and musicianship in the orchestra. More advanced and mature literature will be studied comprehensively, and a variety of styles and genres will be performed to develop a well-rounded musician and performer.

Chamber Strings
Prerequisite: Concert Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, or director consent
Chamber Strings is an auditioned-only ensemble, admitting orchestra players who have exceptional ability on their particular instrument. Students will study advanced string repertoire of the collegiate level and up.
