Welcome to Decorah Elementary School!

I have proudly served as principal at Decorah since 2015, where our highly qualified staff leads with a mindset of “Whatever it Takes” to help children grow academically and socially.

We recognize that students learn to their fullest potential when they feel safe and a part of the school community. Teaching students The Decorah Way concepts of being safe, respectful, responsible, and ready to learn is one way that we build the school community, a safe environment, and a sense of belonging.

The academic structure allows for students to receive support and challenges when appropriate and take into consideration students’ interests and wonderings. Teacher teams meet regularly to look at data and create action plans to continue learning about the best ways to meet student needs. 

We are lucky to have a large number of volunteers in our school and always happy to add more! Check in with your child’s teacher or me to find out how your time and talents can be put to use. 

It is a privilege to serve the community of West Bend as principal of Decorah Elementary and I look forward to building relationships with your child and your family.
